On the first Saturday of each month, Journey has partnered with Courage of Man to host men’s gatherings from 6:30am-8am.
Each 1st Saturday of the month, we gather men who are eager to workout together and steward their health and fitness. Our goal is to exhort men to courageously obey the Lord Jesus Christ, lead our families, and humbly serve our communities. Being fit and healthy allows men to do live this out with great power and authority.
These workouts are open to ALL men, regardless of fitness level or beliefs. Journey Training and Courage of Man are Christian organizations that are firm in our beliefs, but this is a welcome invitation to connecting with other men who want to be healthier and connect with other men and network in the Phoenix community.
Men’s Gatherings
How it Works:
We start the day with a quick meet and greet and explain the purpose of these gatherings. Next, we warmup and get a great workout in. We spend about 30-40min working out as a group with a designated workout written for that day for everyone to do together.
After the workout, we break out into small groups of 4-7 men to connect. This includes introducing yourself to the group, sharing what you do for work, your family situation (married, kids, etc), and how you are connected to the group. This time typically allows men to share the high’s and low’s of life. Things that are going well, and things that they’re wrestling with at the moment.
At the end of the day, we finish with an encouragement and challenge to the group.
Our Vision:
Our hope is that men would be encouraged by this time to steward their health and take their fitness more seriously. Additionally, and more importantly, that men would take their faith seriously and step into the leadership role that God has given us. To be equipped and empowered to go into our workplaces, communities, and homes and lead with tenderness, compassion, and authority.
Working out is a huge part of these gatherings, but this time will also be used for barbecues, hikes, and challenging discussions that would rally men together to build deeper friendships and grow personally and as a group.
